About us

The Bendigo Chorale is a four-part community choir based in north central Victoria. Each year we present several concerts, performing works in a range of styles and from various periods, Renaissance to the present. As well, we participate in community events and collaborate with other local and regional music groups.

The choir was founded in 1957, as the Benola Singers, by Mavis Webster MBE who was its Musical Director for more than forty years.

Subsequent Musical Directors have been local composer and musician Rohan Phillips, Frances Monsbourgh and, since 2011, the talented  Elena Varshavskaya

The choir has been supported by grants received from Regional Arts Victoria and from the City of Greater Bendigo through its Cultural Grants Scheme.
